1 half shot of Grenadine 1 half shot of Creme de Menthe 1
shot of Rum Pour the Grenadine into an apertif glass, then slowly pour the Creme de Menthe so as not to mix the two. The
Creme de Menthe should "sit" atop the Grenadine. Using the same technique, slowly pour the rum in so you have Red on the bottom,
then Green, then Gold (or Yellow). Once you have all three ingredients in the glass, light the rum with a match, quickly insert
a straw to the bottom and suck the whole thing down quickly.

Homemade Tia Maria 1 cup sugar 1
cup water 1-1/3 c rum 1 Tbsp vanilla extract 4 tsp instant coffee Dissolve sugar in boiling water, covered;
let cool to room temperature, and add the rest of ingredients. Let stand several days before consuming.
Use real
vanilla extract, not imitation!
Fruit syrup can be made by mixing 1/2 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of water and bring
to a rapid boil. Simmer for a minute or two and let cool. Makes 3/4 cup syrup.
